ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Howeird announced that the Virgin hyperloop carried a pair of passengers & reported that it was a nice smooth ride
Craig announced that there will be an online Or-Econ next week - details = https://42.orycon.org/orycon-42-postponed/
REVIEWS:
Chris O reviewed the latest episode of ST Discovery as it dealt with relationships in a positive & more inclusive way & John O also enjoyed it & highly recommends it
Howeird reviewed a movie, 'Ghost in the Shell', 2017 movie made as a Scarlet Johanssen vehicle that used lots of computer fx and was kind of interesting with some morality lessons there, opining that if you have a meat brain you are human & was almost worth sitting through the commercials included in the download
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219827/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
Gerald commented it was similar in theme to 'Uncanny Valley'
Dave C reviewed looking at an old email account of his with AOL that he had not looked at in the last 10 years and found many emails there from Donald Trump, asking for money.
Gerald reviewed the 2 run-off elections in Georgia as the Democratic candidates can use your money there, too - but in a more positive way
Lisa reviewed the mini-Baycon convention this last weekend as being on Zoom as brief, but enjoyable, & that hopefully next May there might be a meat-space Baycon. Gayle followed on that she also attended and enjoyed herself and now regrets not having caught any of the prior ones. Craig also attended and found some of the panels to be entirely too short - and that there may be another one, sometime in December. Gerald found it to be a pleasure to listen to and participate in - a Saturday well-spent.
John O reviewed more Disney movies - 'Pocahontas' as a beautiful movie, once you get past how badly they mangled history, with excellent songs & worth watching on Disney plus
Dave G reviewed the virtual SF walk against Alzheimer's disease as he found being in Oakland at the park to be unexpectedly celebratory & found the early voting plus election day as having a lot of voters showing up in person to vote, not just dropping off their ballots & the first voter who came in on Nov 3 was there at 7:07am and the last was there at 7:55pm - with many in-person voters solely voting for president & he highly recommends the experience. Then there was some discussion about the voting process in California and then in Nevada.
Gayle reviewed that one of her sisters recommended Sprouts market house deli chicken
we adjourned at 9:05 pm
and the rumor of the week = 'Don't be so bad at your job, that people dance in the street when you get fired'
