ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Gayle announced that Candi will not be joining us, for she had a nice birthday party today
Yochanan announced that somebody died [Norm MacDonald a couple weeks ago] & announced that the Showplace Icon Theatre in Mountain View has free movies all day on Mondays
Lisa announced that J Michael Straczynski is working to get 'Babylon 5' on the CW as a re-boot
Ken announced that Russell T Davies is back to doing 'Dr Who'
REVIEWS:
Gayle reviewed that her body-clock is all off so she is catching things at odd hours & saw the later half of Star Trek 'Journey to Babel' & thought it was very well done
Yochanan reviewed the 3 seasons of a show on Hulu, 'Future Man', as a guilty pleasure & way out there
Howeird reviewed season 2 of Star Trek's 'Lower Decks' as they toned down some of the needless violence from the 1st episode & it's more of a Star Trek parody now. He rates it as worth free on Amazon Prime. Yochanan followed, saying that it's more of a comedy, not a parody & he really loves it, then Rick commented that he has been finding the series to be hilarious & recommends it;
and then Howeird reviewed getting a misdiagnosis of the skin spot on his face & that it was finally diagnosed as a squamous cancer & this was not worth full price
Lisa reviewed 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' as well done & a good fit for the Marvel Universe & she loved the dragons. She thought it felt authentic & enjoyed seeing San Francisco being 'the Tokyo of the West Coast'. Yochanan followed, saying he saw it for free at the Icon in MV & really liked it & thought it worth at least matinee. Both reminded that you have to stay for the cookies - & Lisa, Yochanan & Howeird all recommend going to the movies
Rick reviewed an Apple original of Asimov's 'Foundation' as somewhat massively reinterpreted - more the plot outline but with original dialogue & thinks it looks very promising
we adjourned at 8:39 pm
and the rumor of the week = 'Victoria's Secret will have a line of Asimov foundations'
