ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ken announced that Dr Who, season 13, premieres on October 31
Gerry announced that Candy's husband Ron has come down with a non-Covid illness and is currently in the hospital
Howeird announced that today is both Canadian Thanksgiving & Indigenous People's Day & announced that Shatner is still ready to be launched into orbit & announced that there is a Ren Faire in Las Vegas this weekend, Friday, Saturday & Sunday [one weekend only]
REVIEWS:
The secretary reviewed 'Venom' as a fun romp with lots of dark humor. The president followed, saying that he did not enjoy it as much since the plot holes were huge and the scripting turgid, worth matinee. Yochanan saw it today & really enjoyed it overall, especially for Eddie & the symbiote's banter, rating it as potentially worth full price
Howeird reviewed a TCL 65 inch Android TV as the picture is phenomenal & the remote control has a button for YouTube & it functions really well
Yochanan reviewed the Renaissance Faire as he had a really fun time & enjoyed seeing mobs of people, although many of them were not masked. They had really great booths with wonderful stuff for sale. Many people attended in costume & he highly recommends going. Craig commented that he's had a lot of friends recently who are fully vaccinated that have gone to events and gotten sick with Covid, so he is very wary of going into public without masks. Howeird confirmed that this Ren Faire was at Casa de Fruta & learned that the weather that day was quite clement - in the 70's/low 80's.
There was then discussion about Covid, contagion & disease spread
Gayle reviewed seeing the Spruce Goose in Evergreen Museum, McMinnville, OR as it is very large & she had a good time; Gerry agreed that the Spruce Goose was very large & mentioned there is an Air & Space museum there, the Evergreen Museum
Rick reviewed the Apple original of Asimov's 'Foundation' as it continues to be 'Asimov-esque' but is varying more from the source material, but is still watchable
Trey reviewed 'No Time to Die' as fun but not great & Daniel Craig is a fine Bond but he found the plot uninspired & the movie worth matinee. Ken also saw it & found the music cues to be especially telling of trouble about to happen in the movie
we adjourned at 8:52 pm
and the rumor of the week = 'Beat LA?'
