Tonopah Group: WesterCon continues. Anaheim next year, and Utah (Salt Lake City?) the year after.
Lisa: Having a heart attack sucks. Missed WesterCon, and will probably MythCon. Avoid one if at all possible. Listen to your doctors. 0 stars. Not worth watching – even free on tv!
JohnO: BayCon 2023 will be July 4 weekend (Jul 30-3?) Catherynne Valente (Writer GoH), Tehani Farr (Artist GoH), Brad Lyau (Comm GoH) Sarah Gailey (Toastmaster) Laser of the Doubleclicks (Music). baycon.org/baycon-2023-announced/.
Reviews
Lynn: WesterCon lot of fun. Went well. Laid back. More programs than expected.
Rick: Classily done. Friendly, cheerful, and no COVID. Arlene Busby worked herself, and is chairing next year.
Others at Tonopah: Some presentation will be available on the (soon to be live) WesterCon74 YouTube Channel. Generally impressed. However, not good reviews on traveling to and from.
JohnO: BayCon 2022 Really enjoyed it. Low key convention for them due to their health. Went to lots of panels (2-3 per day) Guests were wonderful, and even accessible. Convention planned for low attendance, but had wide range of panels. Lack of parties, and the restaurant didn’t really want to be open for lunch and dinner (and boring and plain).
Craig popped in to say hi from BayCon. Explained some of the restaurant issues. Thinks there was too much programming.
Rumor of the Week: It's a long and winding road -- or maybe not.
