Committees: A motion to disband the Committee to Create Committees, and was voted 6 to 1 in favor.
Craig: It was the greatest thing he ever did because he had to do nothing.

New Business: No new business.

Announcements:

Craig: SiliCon will not happen in 2023. Yochanan – Sad to see it go too. John – Part of the issue is SJConvCenter forced them to have the con (pay either way). Adam Savage’s name has disappeared from the convention media.

Yochanan: Just got home from emergency quadruple bypass surgery. Two months anticipated for recovery. Lisa - Welcome to the zipper club (last July) Craig - Had to learn to make adjustments from his life-changing surgery.

Gayle: Got new passports (expedited fee) for Pemmi-con (NASFIC) in Winnipeg in July.

John: 5-years ago (yesterday) had a knee replacement, and is in far less pain than before it. Gerald: 12 years since cancer surgery.

Ken: Eurovision semis Tue & Thu 12 pm, and Final this Sat (also at 12pm) Streams in the US on Peacock.

Reviews

Yochanan: Dr. Who Schratchman by Tom Baker. Interesting book. 4th Doctor, first person. Sarah & Harry are companions. 4/5 *s
Picard: Marvelous job. No duds. Maybe one too many tags. Wished all three series were as good.
Kaiser Santa Clara: Did an outstanding job of the surgery. The have Direct TV, so had a lot to watch (lots of fannish). H&I Star Trek marathons.

John: GotG vol 3: The conclusion of this mix of the cast. Good wrap. All the commercials lie. Definite go see for Marvel fans. 2 Thumbs Up.

Gayle: Waterman - Duke: Ambassador of Aloha (bio of Duke Kahanamoku) Watched it twice https://www.pbs.org/video/waterman-duke-ambassador-of-aloha-ot83gi/

Craig: There’s a funky surfer museum in an old light house in Santa Cruz.

Sandra: Last Breath. Saturation diving in the North Sea Highly recommend.

Kennita: Whats a good 3D to see GotG? General discussion has: All the same tech, but IMAX has more pixels so it might be better.

Rick: Mrs. Davis (Peacock) Unpredictable. Absolutely totally bonkers (in a good way).
Citadel: Just turn your brain off. Kind of fun, but dumb.

Gerald: The Coronation: Almost all of the liturgy was put to music by people like Andrew Lloyd Webber, so what I saw was a glitch-free 4-hour concert with cosplay punctuated by occasional oaths and poignant family drama. It didn't seem that long--something interesting or beautiful was always happening.
Gayle: Pretty Yende performed (She’s done Met productions).
Lisa: Woke up in time to watch live. Kind of fun. Flyby was truncated due to weather. Enjoyed.
Yochanan: Saw the balcony bit live. Followed by highlights of the ceremony.

Duncan: Star Wars Visions new season started May 4. Disney+ Lucas with world wide styles of animation. It’s wonderful.

Lisa is looking to cut the cord, and there was lots of discussion.

Rumor of the Week: Rumors of Yochanan's Death were greatly exaggerated; unfortunately the same can not be said about SiliCon SJ! 8/4
