Reviews
Yochanan = Frank Herbert’s Dune (2000, Sci-Fi, DVD) His brother recommends it as the best version. 3 90-min-long episodes. The FX haven’t held up. Costumes are beautiful. Recommends it for thoroughness. B- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Herbert's_Dune
And Yochanan reviewed = Doctor Who: Joy to the World (Disney+) This year’s Christmas special. Frenetic, funny and moving. Nicely done. Nailed the landing. Top 3 Christmas specials. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joy_to_the_World_(Doctor_Who) & Rick opined: It had a very Steven Moffat-y plot. Amiable and cheery on the whole.
And Yochanan reviewed = The Meshuganutcracker (filmed version, 3 Below) Really good. Several BASFAns were in attendance. Chanukah musical, set to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. Loved it! imdb.com/title/tt7714070/
Rick = Silo (AppleTV+) Based on Hugh Howie’s self-published novels. In it’s second season, better than the first. 10 episodes. The author has creative control, but not slavishly the same as the novels. An ensemble cast. Has a claustrophobic conspiracy feel. Rip roaring! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silo_(TV_series)
Gayle = Chanukah eve party at Rick & Deirdre’s. Nibbles were great. Watched the series Hawkeye, which was exciting and funny. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawkeye_(miniseries)
Kenita: Enjoyed the program.
Gerald: Hawkeye was pretty good. Six episodes, not strung out.
Rumor of the Week: Farewell to a truly great president.
