The minutes of meeting 1830 were accepted 'they are behind us'
Proxy Treasurer's report = Regular: $15,805.32
Party: $230.58
Money can be sent to salve guilt via PayPal - sent to: dwgallaher@gmail.com
Though we have accrued $157.34 since the resumption of live meetings.
the VP had nothing fannish to report other than happy Bela Lugosi Day, being his birthday
the President reported that he will be absent next week
no old or new business
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ken announced that this Friday is the 4th Friday of the month, so there will be a meeting of the Legion of Rassilon – your Doctor Who fan club - live in person at the Dennie's on Bascom in Milpitas on Abbott Rd, near the 880 freeway, at 7:30pm - wear a mask. This month we will be watching the HD updated effects version of the seventh Doctor story The Happiness Patrol, followed by the first episode of the third Doctor story Doctor Who and the Silurians.

Yochanan announced that this was the longest he has ever commuted to get to a BASFA meeting at 5 hours & 25 minutes
Gayle announced that 'Live from the Met' will be showing in theatres;

Yochanan reviewed 'Finch', a post-apocalyptic movie with Tom Hanks from 2021, seen on Apple Plus TV about pet care and robots as he really enjoyed it

and Yochanan also reviewed a book from the Dr Who Icons Series: 'Charles Darwin and the Silurian Survival'. He considers it worth buying at auction & highly recommended it.

and Yochanan reviewed 'The World of the Terracotta Warriors' - an exhibit he saw at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA [now ended]. He enjoyed it tremendously & says it will be shown next in Houston, TX. Duncan followed, wanting an excuse now to visit Houston.

Rick reviewed 'The Umbrella Academy' produced for Netflix, as with 3 of 4 seasons seen he considers it to have a great cast, saying there are instances of good writing and excellent acting despite being produced a season at a time & making it up as they go along. Duncan followed on, considering it brilliantly written & he highly recommends it. Yochanan also has thoroughly enjoyed the series.

Gerald reviewed the book 'Outcasts' by Sarah Stegall as an enjoyable read about the inspiration for 'Frankenstein', the book Mary Shelley wrote, and the circumstances behind this. He recommended the book as worth full price.
