The minutes of meeting #1850 (March 2nd) were accepted as "What if they gave a war, and everybody came?"
We're not yet aware of minutes from immediately preceding meeting #1851 (March 9th).
There was no Treasurer's report, lacking a Treasurer attending.
There was no VP report, lacking a VP attending.
There was no President report, lacking a President attending.
There were no committee reports.
There was no old or new business.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Lisa announced that Consonance, the Bay Area's annual filk convention, will be held March 27-29 in Newark, Calif at ALOFT Silicon Valley. People are encouraged to buy memberships - at this point, still available
online, and then later, even during con, at the door.

Rick announced that an outbreak of norovirus, the scourge of cruise ships, is currently circulating in the Bay Area. It is highly transmissible, but _only_ by an infected person's hand, to object, to hand to mouth. Therefore, wash hands with soap and warm water, a lot. Norovirus is the primary cause of 'stomach flu'. You do not want it, nor to transmit it to others.

Rick reviewed 'War Machine', a 2026 Australian-American SF action movie currently on Netflix, starring Alan Ritchson, Dennis Quaid, and others. You think you're watching a soldier/war drama, about Ritchson as a US Army soldier severely traumatized in Afghanistan, who is attempting to recover by qualifying as an Army Ranger, when the plot takes an SFnal left turn. It is well acted, scripted, and directed, ultimately quite satisfying, and may give rise to sequels. Shooting locations were in Victoria, Australia, and Queenstown,
South Island, New Zealand, making good use of outdoor shots.
Rick scored on a curve, as he has low expectations of Netflix films, but, on that basis, found it a roaring success, and notes its 70% on the Tomatometer.
