Announcements:

Lisa reported that Ben Yalow's mom, a Nobel Prize winner for medicine, has died.
She also reminded people to get their rooms for Westercon 64, since the room block will be closing soon. Kevin R. and Andy will be throwing a party, so they assure all members that they'll need one. For more details, please go to:
http://www.westercon64.org/

Dave C. donated a mini Doctor Who scarf to auction, which was enclosed with a letter by Avery Watts and addressed to him as chairman of ConFrancisco. Apparently, it went had been unopened since 1993 until recently.

Mike Mc. reminded everyone about the Summer Concert Series at Vasona Park. Go to

Reviews:

Kirsten read Deadline by Mira Grant (aka Seanan McGuire) and said it was awesome.
She says it's a wonderful continuation from Feed.

Diane read Bards of Bone Plain by Patricia McKillip and said it was wonderful. She also read Dragonholder by Todd Johnson and said it's wonderful fluff.

Andy said that the Doctor Who season break episode is worth watching on Saturday
night. Ken followed on that it felt more like filler.

Dave C. said that Dead Travel Fast by Ken Newman is worth full price.

Ken said the Retrodome had a Mary Poppins singalong and he & Jeri went as Tuppence. Next up: Grease.

Fred said Internet Archives is scanning as much traditional print stuff as possible. They're releasing public domain stuff immediately and holding back on copyrighted material. They're storing the books.

We did auctions.

Rumor of the Week:
"That's one more thing for the list of 100 things that SyFy's not allowed to do.
