BASFA Meeting 1349

Began 8-ish - without pie
26 people attended
we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1348 were accepted as 'accepted'
The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $1.00 in the regular jar
The Vice President had nothing fannish to report
The President had nothing fannish to report - but we said 'hi' to Eritosthanese & Max - both visiting for the first time
The Site Selection committee had a vote to ratify our earlier vote to meet at the Black Bear Diner that passed, lots to none & the Committee was therefore disbanded
The Sports Committee reported that there was no interest in a second BASFA outing to the SJ Giants 'Cartoon & Princess Night'
The Code of Conduct Committee is hard at work and will report back on June 13
Announcements:
Gerry announced that he may miss next week's meeting, due to being at a writer's retreat
Adrienne reminded people to vote
Dave C announced that National Theatre Live will do a live presentation of 'One Man, Two Guv'nors' at the end of the month &
announced that 'Top Gear' is coming back with new presenters
Andy announced that June 11 at the Ritz in downtown SJ Max Sabbath will be performing - a MacDonald's-themed tribute to Black Sabbath
Gayle announced that a long-time fan had died
Reviews:
JC reviewed a Sharks game at the Tank as absolutely filled with energy - literally an electric event - and so very worth full price and recommended
Ric reviewed the Subzero Festival as kind of standard and fun & reviewed 'The Nice Guys' as a comedy worth seeing again
Dave C reviewed 'Xmen Apocalypse' as Xmen babies redone & was stale & worth matinee only if the theatre uses real butter
Adrienne reviewed 'The Nice Guys' as okay because of air conditioning
Fred reviewed the Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma as nice and much better than he expected & reviewed Wiscon as worth attending
Andy reviewed visiting a vodka vault at Red Square are worth visiting
Trey reviewed 'Money Monster' as entertaining and worth viewing
we did auctions
we adjourned at 9:06 pm
and the rumor of the week was: 'The Libretarians have nominated Gary Larson & William Shatner'
