we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1356 were accepted as 'the happiest minutes on Earth'
The Treasurer was absent & but last week we took in $2.75 in the regular jar & $14.50 in the party jar
The Vice President had nothing fannish to report
The President had nothing fannish to report
The Website Committee reported that the BASFA Rules list & the code of conduct are now up on the website
Announcements:
Mike announced that Jack Davis & Richard Thompson died
John O announced that the 2016 TAFF delegate, Anna Raftery, will visit us on our August 8th meeting & announced that House Arkham has arrived at Disneyland
Bill announced that he will be doing a filk concert Thursday, 1pm of Worldcon
Gerry announced that the medical community has decided he will not die immediately & he recommends the PSA test
Dave C announced that Cargo Cult is conducting a poll for preference between the formats of DVD vs Blueray - and the results was that DVD is still preferred & announced that the convention results from Gallup were that Hilary got a +4 point bump, while Trump got a -15 point dimple
Andy announced that Worldcon is coming up & SJ in 2018 can still use help for the site selection table and fan table - both during the day - for the bid party at night & may need help with the Registration table if they win & will also need help with assembly in the large exhibit hall
Brad announced that he is here & that he has had a new paper accepted academically & announced that the Heinlein bust will be displayed at Worldcon & announced that he is driving to the con
[tall] Kevin announced that he will drive to Worldcon from home & he'll leave a week from Thursday
[evil] Kevin announced that the test build for the secret project was a success and took only 2 hours
Geri announced that a Bacon festival will happen Sept 3-4 in SJ
Carole announced that she has 2 art panels in the Worldcon art show

Valerie reviewed the Harry Potter release for 'Cursed Child' as fun & revealing
Gerry reviewed the operetta, 'El Capitan', by John Philip Sousa as rousing, melodic and recommended
Adrienne reviewed 'Absolutely Fabulous' as a good movie adaptation of the show, the performances were good & she found it fun, but rates it worth waiting for Amazon
Bill reviewed the new 'Ghostbusters' movie as a madcap romp, enjoyable and worth full price
Andy reviewed Google maps as the area around the SJ in 2018 site as solidly orange = packed with things to do
Ric reviewed the app for 'Overdrive' as it works well for audio books & reviewed an imagining app called 'Sombra' as it also works well
[tall] Kevin reviewed travel by train as relaxing, with beautiful scenery
John O reviewed 'Zombies versus Aliens versus Vampires versus Dinosaurs' as a delightful romp that reads like fan fic and is just fun
Dave C reviewed the 'Preacher' season finale as satisfying
