Called to order at 8 pm

The minutes of meeting 1411 were accepted as 'don't stare directly at the Trump'
the Treasurer was present & last week we took in $0.00 in the regular jar
the VP reported had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report, but said 'hi' to Virginia, visiting us for the first time
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ken announced that this Friday is the Legion of Rasselon meeting, 7:30 at the IHoP at Steven's Creek & the 280 & announced that their is a Fathom event on Sept 10 & 13 for 'Wrath of Khan' showings
Dave C announced that this Thursday, the guys who do RIFFtraks will be doing a Dr Who event at different venues
Ric announced that Fathom will have 'Lupin 3: Castle Cagliostro' showings in various places on Sept 14 [dub'd] and Sept 19 [subtitled]
REVIEWS:
Ken reviewed the Fathom Dr Who event last Thursday as entertaining
Ric reviewed Marvel's 'The Defenders' as good so far and that he has generally enjoyed the adaptations & also reviewed the 'Sandman Supersized #1' as recommended as a good stand-alone
Dave C warned that Berkeley is now infested with new student drivers & then reviewed 'That the #@&% is That?', an anthology edited by John J Adams & Douglas Cohen, as the best story is the Seanan McGuire one & the book is worth paperback
Worldcon was reviewed by many as done very nicely, except for being overwhelmed at Registration & too-small rooms, Helsinki turning out to be the 2nd most heavily-attended Worldcon ever with 7100 warm bodies on site & the 'come to San Jose' presentation was well-received. [evil] Kevin highly recommends Norweigan Air's non-stop & Dave C commented that Helsinki is multi-lingual and most speak English there & Andy highly recommends the Original Sokos Hotel
