Called to order at 8 pm

The minutes of meeting 1417 were accepted as 'it should always be so easy'
the Treasurer reported that last week we took in $0.50 in the regular jar & $0.50 in the aprty jar
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President said 'hi' to 1st time visitor Jo, who has followed us on the web for a while
The Party Committee reported that the next BASFA party will be this weekend at Convolution on Saturday, 8pm - & that help would be appreciated in set-up
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
[small] Harold announced that there was a not-calling-it-a-Zeldathon marathon that raised $26k and the next will be in December - check zeldathon.net
JC announced that Convolution is this weekend at the San Ramon Marriott
Aatheus announced that Milpitas is holding their 1st Octoberfest this Saturday, 11am till 4pm - the event is free but the beer is not
Gerry announced that Space X is attempting 2 launches this weekend
[evil] Kevin announced that there will be a Bat Rave Friday night of Convolution - with food, frivolity & costumes are welcome - & that there will be a Worldcon fan table at Convolution; Adrienne followed, saying that Bay Area Ghost Hunters will also have a presence at-con
Adrienne announced that Mo's mom died yesterday
REVIEWS:
Gerry reviewed a CBS TV show, 'Wisdom of the Crowd' - crowd sourcing for crime detection - as it didn't really work
Ric reviewed his visit to Tampa, FL as the hurricane missed it, but there was still a lot of damage a week later - and reviewed 'ST Discovery' as pretty much 1 episode split into 2 parts
Vikos reviewed 'Alien Arrival' as pretty decent quality Netflix fare
Lance reviewed 'The Hermit of Houston' in SFinSF as very much fun and Delany-like
JC reviewed 'Battle of the Sexes' as a very entertaining film, worth full price & several agreed with him
Brad reviewed the re-release of Gaiman's 'American Gods', with extra content, as it still flows well; he enjoyed it and recommends the book
Andy reviewed seeing the reboot of Ducktales as it was still fun
Dave C reviewed 'Here Comes Trouble' by Michael Moore as an enjoyable book & reviewed season 3 of 'Ricky & Morty' as still dark and strange
