Called to order at 8 pm

we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1450 were accepted as 'blanket acceptance'
the Treasurer reported that we took in $1.00 in the regular jar & $0.75 in the party jar
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report
The Sports Committee reported that the BASFA outing occurred to PacBell Park for the May 18 Giants vs Rockies game - that the Giants lost & turnout was disappointing. Then Ken reported that tickets for the BASFA outing to the Harry Potter night San Jose Giants game are being handed out - Email basfa@p4tt.com for more information
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ken announced that this Friday is the Legion of Rassilon meeting; 7:30 pm at the Denny’s in Campbell, near the Pruneyard on Bascom
Debbie announced that Baycoin is this weekend & there will be parties; Chris O followed, saying that they can use help to put on the Worldcon party
Carole announced that Balticon is this weekend
Ric announced that he's in charge of the Worldcon charity auction & is looking for donations - benefitting the Altzheimer Association of Northern California & Nevada
Lisa announced that Costume Con will be in SJ in 3 years
REVIEWS:
'Deadpool 2' was reviewed as generally a fun movie. enjoyable and that Domino was great, worth full price
Randy reviewed 13 episodes of Netflix 'Baby Boss Back in Business as humorous for adults & kids both
Bill reviewed going to CostumeCon as there were nice costumes there, he enjoyed the panels he saw & was glad he went, then Carole followed, saying she also enjoyed the con, but was on several panels and missed panels that she wished she could have seen
John O reviewed getting his knee replacement surgery at the San Leandro Kaiser Orthopedic Surgical Unit as it was done on time & there were no complications & he has nothing but praise for his doctors & nurses, highly recommended & then reviewed seeing Weird Al in concert last Saturday as the Fox Theatre is recommended if you have mobility issues & that the show was terrific
Lisa reviewed the 'Princess Bride' sing & quote-a-long as she had a lot of fun - & Ken mentioned that this next weekend will show 'Grease'
Vikas reviewed his first live professional baseball game - the BASFA outing to see the Giants - that AT&T Park is lovely, the Giants lost & he got a Star Wars Giants t-shirt
Dave G reviewed the HBO adaptation of 'Farenheit 451' as he's still processing it, but is not sure it worked - and rates it as 'wait for cable'
Fred reviewed seeing Maker's Faire in San Mateo as he had a good time
Trey reviewed 3 books - 'Neogenesis' by Steve Miller & Sharon Lee as another in the Liad series comedy or manners and he enjoyed it; then reviewed 'Under a Sugar Sky' by Seanan McGuire - the 3rd book in the Wayward Children series - as it was entertaining & reviewed Andy Weir's 'Artemis' as an interesting science fiction heist story & the character was a star in bad decisions theatre, worth paperback
we had auctions
