BASFA minutes for August 20
Minutes of Meeting # 1464

held at the Worldcon 76 Dead Dog party, the Fairmont Hotel, San Jose.
Called to order at 20:02 with 12 people in attendance (quite possibly more…)
A party jar was established
The Minutes of meeting #1463 were read and were accepted.
Treasurer Report
At meeting #1463 we took in:
Regular $0.75
Party $3.25
For a total of:
Regular $MONEY
Party $MONEY
The Vice President had nothing fannish to report, but welcomed Kern Wallace and Derek McCaw to their first BASFA meeting. There were many people that haven’t been in a while.
The President was MIA with the Secretary.
The Party Committee reported that we had a party. He now waits patiently for the treasurer.
Announcements
Ric: The Worldcon 76 charity auction closed today with 160 items. The most impressive exhibit at the convention. Including all extra donations and tips from Callahan’s, we raised $15k for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ken: This Friday is the fourth Friday of the month, and time once again for the monthly meeting of the Legion of Rassilon. This month is two stories by new show-runner Chris Chibnall - 42 (with David Tennant) and Power of Three (with Matt Smith). Meeting is at 7:30 pm at the Denny’s in Campbell, on Bascom near the Pruneyard. lor.club
Gordon: There’s a convention this weekend - Bubonicon 50 in Albuquerque, NM. John Scalzi & Mary Robinette Kowal are co-Guests of Honor bubonicon.com
Reviews
Adrienne: Taiwan Restaurant Lincoln Ave in Willow Glen. Found issues with every item ordered. Totally unimpressed. Not recommended.
Atheus: Uproar brewing. Had a flight of beers, and they were all worth full price.
There was no auction.
Meeting adjourned at: 20:45 and the rumor of the week was: evilKevin is where he’s always been - he’s in our hearts.
(The presiding officer started with the regular “gavel” but ended the meeting with a novelty-oversized gavel.)
