Committee Report
Sports Committee
The San Jose Giants sales rep has let us know that the "fannish" theme games this year are as follows: Saturday, May 23, 6 p.m. Star Wars Night ($49). Friday, July 31, 7 p.m. Harry Potter Night ($59). These prices are for the Martinelli’s VIP deck and include food, two drinks and dedicated service. The May game is over the memorial day weekend, which means it overlaps with all the conventions. The July 31 game also coincides with WorldCon in New Zealand. Contact Ken at basfa@p4tt.com to register your interest. If we get a minimum of 15 people for either game we’ll book the tickets for that game.

Announcements
Gayle San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker. Matinee and evening performances most days through December 22. She saw it on Wednesday. Wonderful as usual. Set during the PanPacific Expo. Recommend.

DaveC Has copies of A Very Scalzi Christmas available for sale. You know where to find him.

DaveG This Thursday a little movie called Star Wars premieres. SFinSF events will have a showing at the Balboa in San Francisco at 7:30pm on December 20. $12.

Reviews
Lisa Saw Frozen 2. Delightful, fun, nicely dealt with story. Somewhat predictable. Some songs repetitive from first film. No “Let it go” song this year. Includes more real history of the region. There is even an indigenous language version of the film! Uses the big screen well. Worth seeing.
JohnO: Enjoyed it. If you liked the first one, go see it. If you didn’t, don’t. Disney is working hard on their multiculturalism.

JohnO Last night saw Jumanji: The Next Level. Same basis. Don’t need to have seen the first film. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart really good acting as Danny Devito and Danny Glover. The villain is good at being a villain. Fun brainless entertainment. If you like the first one you’ll like this one.
Time Sailors by Shelli Frew. Novel length. Self published? Been to BayCon. Not a deep novel, but has interesting takes on time travel. Small number of people who can naturally travel in time, usually brought on by trauma. Interesting rules set around them. Mechanical time travel is also introduced, and regulations are put in place. Recommends, not expensive on Kindle. Has hooks for a sequel.

Gerald Went to the Stanford v. Ohio State women’s basketball game. Stanford was not under any threat. They are currently ranked number one in the country. Well worth the price of admission
Gayle: Ohio State beat the number two a couple weeks earlier.

DaveC Blow Out by Rachel Maddow. A look at worlds major industries. The book bounces around a lot, but sums it all up in the end. Very much in Maddow’s voice. Long, interesting, recommended.

Auction
Meeting was adjourned at 20:51 and the rumor was: The treasurer was very disappointed last week, and will be disappointed about this week.
