the VP had nothing fannish to report

the President said 'hi' to a new person, Luke Casipe - who found us on Meet-up - but otherwise had nothing fannish to report

The Sports Committee rinsed & repeated that there should be a BASFA outing to the SJ Giants Harry Potter night, July 31, with a NEW maximum of 50 attendees, cost is $70 each for the 1st base party patio & includes food, buffet style & unlimited soft drinks & water; contact at = basfa@p4tt.com - contact him soon! The 'Getting back to Live Meetings & Relocation Committee' reported that the Black Bear diner is holding firm to a 9pm close, so we are looking for a new meeting site & Denny's might be the best bet so far - depends on if Mondays are available. Investigation is underway - & we are looking for places that do not charge to hold meetings there & suggestions are appreciated

REVIEWS:

Rick reviewed a Netflix series, 'Ragnarok', a Norwegian production & is described as 'scenery porn' with gorgeous Western Norway scenic locations & it's very good, check = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragnarok_(TV_series)

Alan reviewed 'Tomorrow War' with Chris Pratt on Amazon Prime as akin to 'Independence Day' mixed with 'Dr Who', but really good & he's enjoying it a lot, highly recommended & Yochanan followed, saying he agrees & enjoys the acting & use of time travel in a 'popcorn science' sort of way

Dave C reviewed 'Iron Sky' as the plot is truly, truly BAD - not recommended; there were comments explaining some of its background

Yochanan reviewed having seen the full 1st season of 'Rick & Morty' as it's profane but entertaining & contains meta-humor. He likes that there is some continuity & it's not for children, highly recommends it; Rick comments that the same creative team is doing the 'Loki' mini-series

Howeird reviewed the EVA done by the Chinese space station as he is impressed with the quality of their video;
& also reviewed watching fireworks presentations on various channels - that CNN did a good job showing the fireworks & PBS just didn't get that they were supposed to SHOW the fireworks & the best was ABC from New York that went on for almost an hour and was really well done. He said the local Las Vegas show was put on in coordination among the casinos & was really good & well covered - showing the fireworks and not the talking heads;
& Yochanan followed that he really enjoyed Howeird's back drop - as did I

we adjourned at 8:41 pm

and the rumor of the week = 'Ken contains multitudes'
