the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report
the Relocation Committee reported that it is possible to hold BASFA meetings at 'Denny's' in Milpitas & they have space for us. The Legion of Rasselon is meeting there now, since the Denny's in Campbell has closed
There was then a vigorous discussion about whether the membership is willing and ready to meet in 'meat space' & how to insure everyone is doubly-vaxxed, as well as staff & other patrons, as well as masking policy & social distancing
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Gerry announced that the SpaceX launch that was going to happen tomorrow has been delayed until this weekend
Ken announced that the Legion of Rasselon is now meeting at the Milpitas Denny's now
Howeird announced that he gets his stitches out tomorrow & hopes for a cute scar & he announced that he has an ultrasound today & liked that there are flow patterns showing in the ultrasound displays now
REVIEWS:
John O reviewed 'Star Trek Prodigy', a new animated series on Paramount Plus geared for a younger audience, as they enjoyed the first episode & highly recommends it
he then reviewed 'Dune', seen on the IMAX in the Hacienda Crossings Regal, as the vast screen helped him feel even more immersed in the film and thinks they nailed the characters spot on and this adaptation is excellent - highly recommended & urges you going to see it in IMAX
Howeird reviewed a newish movie, 'Alienated' on Prime video, as he found it to be kind of fun, although they won't win any awards for acting, but the script is okay

he also reviewed the latest 'Dr Who' as it seems to him like Jodi Whittaker is flailing around and way too loud for the role & there are not much by way of special effects other than the implosion effect, so rated it as about a '5' on a 1 to 10 scale - and there were comments that the writing has been lacking
Sandra reviewed seeing 'Donnie Darko' as it was a full restoration of the film and still holds up pretty good & she says an adaptation of "Wheel of Time" is going to show up, starting Nov 19 on Prime
