Committees: Relocation: Reminder to keep an eye out for potential meeting places. If you go to a restaurant, look to see if it has a meeting space and what hours they’re open.

Announcements:
Yochanon = There’s and exhibit at the de Young: Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharos. Weekends are most likely sold out, weekdays are easier. deyoung.famsf.org/exhibitions/ramses-great-and-gold-pharaohs
Robin/Fred = Dr. Demento has accepted their song “Chuck the Corpse”, and may be aired as early as October 15!
Gerald = There will be a OryCon (an Or-E-Con) in November. orecon2.orycon.org
Reviews
Yohanon = Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharohs. Traveling exhibit. Went Tuesday. Beautiful museum. There’s an optional VR component. Liked it a lot. Worth full price.
Last Monday, when Jupiter was at its closest, went up Mt. Hamilton with binoculars and saw Jupiter’s moons, and got some photos as well (using a DSLR). Enjoyed it a lot. (Gerald got scientific! Gayle got astronomical! and there was future mission discussions…) Gerald recommends a movie called The Europa Report.
Short Circuit, Experimental Films (Disney+) animated shorts by new directors. There’s a couple seasons. Highly Recommend.
Finished Galactic Derelict by Andre Norton. Liked Time Traders better, but still liked it. Wonderful world building. Good book, abrupt ending. Looking forward to the third book. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galactic_Derelict
Robin/Fred = This week read The Golden Enclaves, the third book of Scholomance trilogy, by Naomi Novik. Kind of Harry Potter meets Lord of the Flies. Very neat and layered story. Highly recommend. Full price.
Rumor of the Week: It's okay to be weird, just be nice about it.
