REVIEWS:
Craig reviewed Norwescon as very pleasant & there is still good stuff out there for free
Gerry reviewed 'Station Eleven' by Emily St. John Mandel as a post-apocalyptic plague novel about the after-effects on the world & was worth the Kindle price;
& he reviewed Clockwork Alchemy as he did rather well in sales there, even with being a last minutes addition to the dealer's den & it was much more fun than he thought it would be
Yochanan reviewed 'Dungeons & Dragons' as a popcorn movie with a lot of humor & felt that Chris Pine did a very good job in his role & good mindless fine & totally worth matinee - the secretary also saw the movie & enjoyed it, feeling as a gamer that it did work well; Brett also followed-on that it was entertaining; Kennita also saw it & thought the representation of the owlbear was over-powered;
& he also reviewed a movie called 'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent' with Pedro Pascal & Nicholas Cage. He felt it was a very fun movie & would have paid matinee, even though he saw it for free & he liked it a lot
& also reviewed 'Time Troopers' edited by Hank Davis & Christopher Ruocchio. This is a collection of time travel stories published in 2022 that collects stories from many sources & time periods that he highly, highly recommends the collection & loved it
Rick reviewed the latest episode of the Mandalorian as it had more of a 'Scooby Do'-like plot & the show is starting to show 'Disney disease' by losing originality as it tries tying the show into upcoming properties. However, there were still some fun bits & Yochanan also has been enjoying the series but also agrees that this season has shown a lack of focus
Kennita reviewed the movie 'Oppy' as much more entertaining than she thought it would be and found it entertaining
& she reviewed 'The Europa Report' [from 2013], seen on video as not really worth the time she spent on viewing it, even though it had excellent cinematography she had to give it a negative review
Brett reviewed the Netflix 10 episode show 'Beef' about a road rage incident between two strangers who then begin a feud as it was worth watching, for more info check = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beef_(TV_series) - & Rick follow-on'd that he had heard of the show & was intending to search it out in the future
Dave G reviewed the Washington state health care system as he spent time at Valley Medicine due to having had a stroke & they took very good care of him. He also says he enjoyed Norwescon
we adjourned at 9:12pm
and the rumor of the week was = 'Happy discount candy day!'
