REVIEWS:

Rick reviewed the season 2 closing episode for 'Strange New Worlds' as well-acted and not too implausibly plotted, that it ended on a fairly nice cliffhanger, but worth your time; Ken followed, saying that it was fairly good & Yochanan said it was a wonderful season and the last episode was pretty good & Lisa said 'and once again a creature met before in other shows has shown up and has been completely changed, but other than that she enjoyed it; then John O said he didn't know it was the season closer & was expecting the second part of the show this week, while Valerie commented that the Gorn change was for the better & not a papier-mache costume
& Rick reviewed the Apple TV+ season 2 of the Asimov 'Foundation' adaptation as absolutely gorgeous. He says that as long as you focus on the visuals and not the plot, the series is pretty okay even with its lack of actual Asimov content

Ken reviewed that Futurama has returned and is on Hulu. This week the episode was about whether Fry was the 'Quiznos Cadillac' & he had a laugh at that;
and he reviewed 'Bullet Train' as a not-typical Brad Pitt movie. It was a 'murders on the Oriental Express' [his pun] movie & a 'buddy assassin film'. He recommends it. John O agreed that it was a 'shut off your brain and enjoy the ride' kind of movie & he highly recommends it

Valerie reviewed Laura Resnick's 'Esther Diamond' series as fun, especially Vampirazzi. She saw Gilbert and Sullivan's 'Iolanthe' and Shakespeare's 'Cymbeline' as both had very illogical plots but good actors. By contrast she loved Puffs and saw it twice.

Yochanan reviewed 'Dead City', a 'Walking Dead' spinoff on Amazon Prime as set in New York City & was a handful of episodes that needs more seasons. He thought it was good, but not great

Lisa reviewed 'Good Omens, season 2' as great fun and a real hoot. It ends on a suspenseful note with 'the team' getting broken up, at least until season 3, & Ken followed that it also has 'Empire Strikes Back' syndrome

John O reviewed 'Avengers of Justice: Farce Wars' on Amazon as a movie to avoid, about a superhero losing his powers & was a waste of time to watch

we adjourned at 8:32 pm

and the rumor of the week was = 'Gilbert & Sullivan are all about style & humor, not plots that make sense'
