Reviews
Yochanan: Jules (movie, paid to watch on Prime) Ben Kingsley, Jane Curtain. worth every penny. Man’s life disrupted when a UFO lands in his back yard. Liked it a lot, highly recommend. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jules_(film)
Rick: Bodies. (Netflix) Same body found in the same place in different times. Had high hopes, but gets tied up too neatly – and a bit pat. Similar to German series dark (this is Dark light?) Brilliant cast, brilliantly done. Worth your time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodies_(2023_TV_series)
Enjoyed the Prime series The Peripheral. Brilliant series that got canned by Amazon after a year. Now reading the novels by William Gibson. Good, dense, uncompromising – and Amazon can’t cancel that!
Gerald: The Far Dark by Gregory Benford (Analog Nov/Dec 2023) Could be the last for the author (who had a stroke recently). Reasonably good story, hard to describe and not spoil. Interesting story. Craig looked up the author, and he seems to have gotten better, and is working with an other author (as of 3 weeks ago). Yochanan also liked the series. Good acting and great visuals. Recommends, despite the cliff-hangery ending. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Peripheral_(TV_series)
Rumor of the Week: Aging with Aliens: Close Encounters of the Lonely Kind
