Rick: Severance (TV+) Created by Dan Ericson, who’s not done much before. Psychological suspense thriller. Effective use of the one-a-week distribution model. Patricia Arquette is a stand out. Yochanan: Mickey 17 (in theatres) Bong Joon Ho (Parasite) directed. Robert Pattinson is Mickey, a disposable employee sent to colonize an ice world. If he dies, he is “reprinted” with his same memories. Mark Ruffalo is also in it. Enjoyable! Worth full price (though he saw matinee). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mickey_17
Gerald: Algis Budrys’ Rogue Moon had the same macguffin (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_Moon).
The Rain (Netflix, 20 episodes) 2018 sci-fi drama series. Two Danish siblings in a bunker, protected from the rain than will infect people. Slow. Gave up after a couple episodes, but came back. Scenery and cinematography is beautiful. Felt like the plot got away from them. Don’t highly recommend. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rain_(TV_series)
Rick: My tante Bjorg warned him about Scandinavians being weird.
Went to Moffat Field Historical Society Museum. They were doing the 80th anniversary of the landing on Iwo Jima exhibit. A treasure he’d never seen before. Helpful people, memorabilia, stuff about the blimps and airshows. Open Wed - Sat 10a-3p, $10 admission (Sr. disabled discount). Highly recommend. 12 Severyn Ave, Mt. View. Winner Takes All (DW Novel by Jacqueline Rayner) 9th Doctor, Rose and Mickey. Kind of last star-fighter feel in story game. enjoyed it a lot. tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Winner_Takes_All_(novel)
Gerald: Short shoutout to Robert A. Heinlein’s If This Goes On–. Was included in his humanist group’s books to read list. In chapter 10 it goes through in detail how propaganda works to take over governments. A bit of a blueprint that Fox News used. Astoundingly contemporary. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%22If_This_Goes_On—%22

Duncan: MarsCon (two weekends ago) Bloomington, MN. right by the airport. Mars themed (but named for the month) Fun convention, lot of interesting things. Primarily fan populated. He did a few panels. marscon.net
