Ken = This Friday is the fourth Friday and time, once again, for the monthly meeting of the Legion of Rassilon. This month with be the two part finale of the latest season: Wish World and The Reality War. Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m., at the Denny’s in Milpitas on Abbott Avenue, off Calaveras Boulevard, near 880. lor.club
This Sunday, from Noon to 3 p.m. on KFJC (89.7 FM, kfjc.org) will be Sir Cumference Can’t Drive 55 – a birthday celebration, with 56 songs all released on (or near) 27 July for each year.

Rick = Netflix, second season of The Sandman is in progress – first half has dropped. Incredible casting. Extremely well directed. There will be no third season, because of the source author. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sandman_(TV_series)
Season 3 of Foundation (TV) aka Asimov Mad-libs. Second episode is even better than the first. Exceptionally well shot, excellent acting. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_(TV_series)
Nautilus (AMC) origin of Captain Nemo, produced by Disney (who didn’t want to air it) Kookily Disney-esque. Intellectually unchallenging (Atlantis, modern preserved Vikings, &c…) It has not been renewed. Yochanan = Echo (D+/Marvel) Only five episodes. Native American lady who is deaf (played by a deaf native American actress, with a limb difference). Beautiful signing (ASL) setting was beautiful. Reread The Foundation Trilogy (after watching the first two season). Loved it all over again. More plot concept (thanks Robin) driven – as opposed to the series being character driven. Wanted to start over once he finished. Great series of novels (recognizes that the TV series is not the same). Superman (theatres) absolutely loved it. Plot holes, crazy stuff with the background. Great FX that doesn’t detract. Actor does an amazing job, Krypto is important. There’s credit cookies. Re-watchable. Full price. Even his non-fan sister liked it. Great guest stars, including Nathan Fillion (as a Green Lantern) and other heroes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_(2025_film)
Lisa = First two episodes of Strange New Worlds has dropped. Very interesting. The second episode has an old antagonist returning. First episodes deals well with the previous cliff-hanger. Quite enjoyable. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Strange_New_Worlds
Yochanan: Loved it. He doesn’t recommend watching the two back to back, as they are very different thematically.
Rani: Watched both, and agree with everyone.
Ken = The Klingon Language Institute’s annual qep'a' wejmaH cha'DIch was fun to watch, and occasionally participate (mostly the lunch and dinner excursions). Jerry passed her level one exam (one of three of the ten who took it). There was even a cabaret, where Jerry did a Klingon language version of the song High Anxiety! The developer of the language, Dr. Marc Okrand, and the founder of the KLI, Dr. Lawrence Schoen (who is also a Hugo and Nebula nominated author), were very much present and approachable. kli.org
San Diego terminal one not a great place to have a layover. Small, crowded, and no sit-down restaurants. Though we hear that there’s is a new terminal one in the works…
Rumor of the Week: We’ll have to wait until next week to get the real Mule skinny.
