A party jar was established

The minutes of meeting 1162 were accepted as 'Canadian plastic minutes'

the Treasurer reported that last week we took in $4.75 in the regular jar & $3.00 in the party jar

The VP reported that there is no new 'Drink Tank' out & no new 'Journey Planet' out either - that he had a wonderful time

in Toronto & had Armenian food there - plus he won't be at next week's BASFA meeting & commends Air Canada's in-seat TV

The President had nothing fannish to report

The Sports Committee is looking ahead to baseball and asked if we were interested in going to the 1st Friday game in May - which looks to be played against the Dodgers & he wants feedback about this

The AdHoc Outing Committee reported that nothing is planned for this weekend

Tom announced that a new SFinSF is out on their site & that this issue is Prius-powered

JC announced that his daughter's team, the Lady Earthquakes, finished their regular season undefeated & that their tournaments will happen this weekend - and he announced that the 4th Nerdvana podcast should be up tomorrow

Bill announced that a replica of Disney's 'haunted mansion' is up for sale in Atlanta, GA

A motion was made & failed

[evil] Kevin announced that LosCon is coming up & that they will have a Westercon table there & a room party & that Thinbot will be attending & announced that Keith Hartman has a Kickstarter project looking to fund post-production costs for 'Real Heroes' & there were follow-ons

Spike announced that there is a retro-sf themed burlesque in SF, Nov 17 - Saturday

Fred announced that Ed Stokke's 'cutting-edge surgery' had an equipment fail - so Ed is on chemo & radiation at the Palo Alto VA - you can send Ed email thru stokkeed@aol.com

Diane announced that she is cleaning out a pile of her mom's thing and has books on astrology & the like for free to anyone interested - see her

Canida announced that game-designers Corey & Lori Cole have started a Kickstarter to fund 'Hero U - the Rogue to Redemption' = http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1878147873/hero-u-rogue-to-redemption

Adrienne announced that SMOFcon is coming up - in Philidelphia

Jan announced that her daughter's company was eaten by a Mouse

Reviews:
'Skyfall' was multiply reviewed and most agreed it was worth full price & the acting was credible - however Dave C & Trey felt it worth matinee

Dave G reviewed World Fantasy Con as it had a nice bag, lots of free books - a calender for NEXT year & the programming -looked- good, but he was drafted to do Hotel, so didn't see much of it, they did have an 'absolutely good' con suite - then he reviewed a 'Monkees' tribute concert as very good & Ken agreed

[tall] Kevin reviewed his relationship with next year's BristolCon & Brighton's World Fantasy Con as they will be held - one following the other - and visitng both should be encouraged & that Cheryl is planning activities to maximize touristy time there & also reviewed Bath's Thermae Bath Spa as 40 pounds for 3 hours & a meal there is a wonderful bargain & he enjoyed the experience - recommended & he also reviewed 'The Game Show Show' as he & Lisa had a great time there - worth full price

Dave C reviewed 'Frankenweenie' as a great film & worth full price & also reviewed a book 'Where's my Shoggoth' by Ian Thomas & Adam Bolton as wonderful & worth full price

Tom reviewed 'January Dancer' by Michael Flynn as he couldn't have cared less about the plot - but it was well-written & reviewed the 'Celebrated Cases of Judge Dee (Dee Goong An)' - translated by Robert VanGulik - as kick-ass detective fiction, worth full price

Jan reviewed electroni cigarettes as worth full price & reviewed a South Africa safari as really interesting for the people-watching opportunities & worth full price

Valerie reviewed 'Gone' by Michael Grant as disturbingly violent and sadly popular, worth library once & reviewed 'Dodger' by Pratchett as quirky, but not really funny & reviewed 'Gregor the Overlander' by Suzanne Collins as generic fantasy
