BASFA Meeting 1258

we established a party jar

There was a motion that failed, then another motion that failed

The minutes of meeting 1257 were accepted as 'we appreciate those people who take the minutes'

The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $1.00 in the regular jar & $14.00 in the party jar

There was no vice president report

The President had nothing fannish to report

The Sports committee reported that there are 2 additional tickets available for the September 12 Giants game [this Friday]


Announcements:
I announced that Subway has fun 'Guardians of the Galaxy' happy meal bags

JC announced that on ednesday Nerdvana Podcast releases an interview with Cindy Williams & announced that 'I am Groot' & announced that he'll be on panels at Convolution

Beth announced that Kathryn will be in a musical in January

John O announced that his Hugo pics are processed & posted to Facebook & Flicker & announced that Stephen Colbert had the XKCD author on his show

Brad announced that he'll be on panels at Convolution & announced that he'll have at least 5 articles in John Clute's encyclopedia & announced that his next book project is looking good, so he'll be busy

Lisa announced that today is 'talk like William Shatner Day' & is the anniversary of the showing of the first 'Star Trek' episode in 1966

Mo announced that she needs help moving

Dave C announced that it's the publication of the last Leonard Malkin movie guide

[evil] Kevin announced that there will be a Masquerade & announced that this weekend is Gay Rodeo in Duncan's Mill

[tall] Kevin announced a WSFS ammendment

Adrienne reviewed the last week as not good

JC reviewed 'Spiderman 2' as he liked it & reviewed '12 Years a Slave' as really good, extrememly emotion & reviewed a health scare as it ended with a happy minor surgery and his 3rd doctor was excellent

Ric reviewed 'The Last Ship' as a pretty good TNT show

Bill reviewed the London Worldcon as there was always something interesting going on & it had uniformly excellent programming

Brad reviewed his 17-country trip [as he was rained on in 12 of them] & highly recommends airB&B.com & enjoyed his trip immensely

Dave C reviewed a book by George Chesbro - '2 Songs the Archangel Sings' as part of a series he has no interest in reading more of & reviewed a 'File 770' link to 'hasDCdomesomethingstupidtoday.com as a fun read

John O reviewed their trip as they had a good time & recommend Aer Lingus airlines

Diane reviewed an author signing at the Los Gatos Village House of Books by Steven Mix as he wrote a delightful zombie book 'Goodbye from the Edge of Never' as she recommends it
