Announcements:
Dave G announced for JC that Nerdvana Podcast episode 35, part 4 will be released on Wednesday
Carole announced that she sold 10 of 14 art pieces at LosCon
Diane announced that she has a lot of office supplies to donate to something like schools and Adrienne suggested she check out RAFT = www.raft.net [a teacher resource that will send out a truck]
Bill announced that George RR Martin likes football
Larry announced that Fireside Theatre has some of their work on Usenet and if interested, see him
John O announced that 'Ascension' is on skiffy tonight and will show parts 2 & 3 on Tuesday & wednesday
Reviews:
Andy reviewed 'Godus' for tablets as free to play & eminently playable - and is very like the older game 'Populous' - highly recommended & then reviewed gog.com as a good site to find both Populous and other older games, frequently on sale
[evil] Kevin reviewed this year's Santa Run in downtown SJ as much less frustrating than the Turkey Trot, but the $5 Santa suit was made of cheap felt & the beard was bad
Adrienne reviewed a double bill of James Bond films at the Castro Theatre as hearing the James Bond theme played on organ was interesting
Dave C reviewed an EBay feature - the out of stock option - as something to avoid & reviewed the Hollywood Costume exhibit as fascinating & worth a visit - then Carole commented that you can't see all the way around the costumes, plus there are lighting issues & reminded visitors to look up & Bill agreed that it was worth full price
Bill reviewed spending a week in LA between conventions as a good enough week, that LosCon was a bit of a snore & enjoyed hat he saw of SMOFcon & reviewed 2 books of short stories by William Penn as enjoyable reads
Bradford reviewed the Cupertino library promotion as enjoyable, even with the rain & Diane also enjoyed it; plus he reviewed 'The Librarians' as too cutesy for him
Trey reviewed the Stephen Colbert interview of Smaug as well-worth watching & is on Youtube
we did auctions
we adjourned at 9:33 pm
and the rumor of the week was: 'Happy Hanukkah'
