held at Coco's, 1206 Oakmead Parkway (Lawrence Expressway/101 Fwy), Sunnyvale
Began at 8 pm - with excessive zaps
19 people attended
We failed to establish a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1284 were accepted as 'accepted'
The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $13.25 in the regular jar & $8.25 in the party jar
The Vice President was not here [week 5]
The President had nothing fannish to report
The Sports Committee reported they have sold out
Announcements:
Dave C announced that Norwescon is coming up on April 2-5th
[evil] Kevin announced that March 28 is the Transgender day of Visibility & he's producing the nightclub part at the Billie Frank Center & the weekend of April 3rd he's entered Robogames in 2 categories, check robogames.net
Josh announced that a friend of his has a Kickstarter going for a game - 'Super Slam Dunk Touchdown' & on March 19 will have the game featured at 7 Stars Bar & Grill
Ken announced that 'Life of Brian' will be shown at the Blue Light cinema at 7pm, check lifeofbrianmovie.eventbrite.com & Geri has made beards & announced that a Psychotronic Film Festival will be at Foothill this Saturday at 7pm
Reviews:
Andy reviewed seeing some of the Eurovision stuff as worth streaming, especially the Swedish stuff
Alex reviewed 'Atomita' - available on Netflix - as kinda a B movie but quite good
Bill reviewed 'Jupiter Ascending', as having good costumes and stunning visuals, it didn't hold up to close inspection and worth matinee
Brad proxied for Gerry, saying that Marscon had good science and writing panels
Fred reviewed the Single Barrel bar as a good place but that it closes at the end of May
Josh reviewed a milkshake bar on 2nd street in SJ as worth every overpriced penny
we adjourned at 9:40 pm
and the rumor of the week was: 'In time we will all become artifacts'
