We established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1287 were accepted as 'the Thrill is back'
The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $2.50 in the regular jar & $1.00 in the party jar - and then 2 weeks ago we took in $4.95 in the regular jar & $15.00 in the party jar
The Vice President was missing [week 2]
The President greeted visitors - Matthew, who found us with Google 30 minutes before & he really likes robots & June, a long-time reader of sf & fantasy & also Sarah, visiting us from 'one of those Carolinas'
The Sports Committee reported that it's opening day & we're still sold out of tickets for the BASFA baseball outing for the May 9th Giants game

[evil] Kevin announced that Thinbot took the gold at Robogames last weekend
JC announced that Nerdvana Podcast, episode 37, part 3 will be out Wednesday & that this Saturday is tenatively scheduled to record episode 38
Dave G congratulated BASFAs Hugo nominees Chris Garcia & Spring
Adrienne announced that she's been under the weather and missed meetings
Fred announced that APE, Alternate Press Expo will be in downtown SJ the 1st weekend in October
Brad announced that there's a graphic novelization of Heinlein's 'Citizen of the Galaxy' & announced that ge will be giving a paper at the annual conference for the SF Research Assoc
Lisa announced that there's a Renaissance Festival this weekend
Geri announced that Dan Ackroyd will be signing vodka bottles at the Cambria BevMo, Thursday 2-4pm

Dave G reviewed the Science Fiction Outreach Program as giving away free books for 3 days at the Emerald City ComicCon and a good time was had & he reviewed Norwescon as a good convention
Btradford reviewed 'No Requiem for the Space Age' by Matthew Tribbe as he recommends it
Adrienne reviewed season 4 of 'Game of Thrones' as it held her attention & reviewed 'Arrow' season 1 as she really enjoyed 'that guy taking his shirt off' but wasn't impressed with the storyline
Ken reviewed 'Thunderbirds are Go' as fab
Beth reviewed 'Edge of Tomorrow' as excellent, excellent, excellent & JC reviewed it as extremely enjoyable
Andy reviewed Robogames as exciting and spectacular, several times; [evil] Kevin related some of the robot combat results & it sounded like fun
Diane reviewed 3 books, Cooper's 'Edge of Dark' as tight writing, well worth reading & reviewed Hodder's 'The Return of the Discontinued Man' as absolute drek - avoid it & reviewed Dave Walton's 'Super Position' as awesome and well-written
