BASFA minutes for April 27
BASFA Meeting 1291
April 27, 2015
Trey Haddad, President

Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary
held at Coco's, 1206 Oakmead Parkway (Lawrence Expressway/101 Fwy), Sunnyvale
Began 8-ish - with thoughts of twins
28 people attended
We established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1289 were accepted
The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $11.75 in the regular jar & $7.40 in the party jar
The Vice President was not here BUT there were reports that he will be having double trouble & needs to step down as VP, so we will have elections for a new VP in 2 weeks; Nominees currently are = JC, Beth, Chuck, Bruce Pells & Ken Patterson
The President had nothing fannish to report
The Sports Committee reported that we're still sold out of tickets for the BASFA baseball outing for the May 8th Giants game
The Party Committee reported that there is a BASFA Baycon party, set for May 23
Announcements:
Carole & Chris O & John O & Dave G announced that a ton of conventions are coming up: CostumeCon, Balticon, Clockwork Alchemy, Kublacon & Baycon & Conquest
Chris O announced that she & John O will have panels at Baycon & she is scheduled for surgery a week before Baycon
Adrienne announced that another Hugo nominee has withdrawn from the ballot
JC announced that Nerdvana Podcast, episode 39 was recorded over the weekend & that part 1 will be out Wednesday & announced that Free Comic Book day is May 2nd & that they'll record episode 40 at SLG & announced that there is a BBQ festival in Milpitas over memorial Day weekend and he'll have a booth there
Ken announced that next Monday is May 4t & announced that on May 4th he will be doing a Star Wars music medley on KFJC & announced that he has a phone interview on Thursday
[evil Kevin announced that on May 31, Monday at 10am the Penninsula Wearable art lunch is holding a Lunch & Runway Show, check penwag.org for details
Lisa announced that Galligrey 1 tickets go on sale on May 4th
Mo announced that she will need help to get to a doctor's appointment
Aatheus announced that next year Big Wow moves to fall & that Silicon Valley
Reviews:
Beth reviewed recording the new Nerdvana Podcast as done at Brad's place, who has a lot of comic books
[evil] Kevin reviewed an article in the Wall Steet Journal last Thursday as pretty good
Carole reviewed Big Wow as she picked up an anthology there
John O reviewed cancer as it sucks
Adrienne reviewed the latest episode of 'Orphan Black' as no for kids
Alex reviewed 'Ex Machina' as a very good movie & he recommends it quality is good
we did auctions
we adjourned at 8:51
and the rumor of the week was: 'I didn't knw that rabies was a veneral disease'
