BASFA minutes for April 25
BASFA Meeting 1343 - at Lyon's
April 25, 2016
Trey Haddad, President
Ken Patterson, Vice President
Dave Gallaher, Treasurer
Galen Tripp, Sergeant at Arms
Barbara Johnson-Haddad, Secretary
Began 8-ish pm with mud pie & Jo
24 people attended
we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1342 were accepted
The Treasurer reported that last week we took in $6.75 in the regular jar & $10.00 in the party jar
The Vice President had nothing fannish to report
The President had nothing fannish to report
The Sports Committee reported that there are no tickets remaining for the Giants/Rockies game on Friday, May 6. BASFA seats are in the view reserve [section 317]. PLUS Ken has tickets ON HIM RIGHT NOW for the Saturday, 5pm, May 14, SJ Giants Star Wars night game in the Martinelli Plaza for $49 each & .. and this includes food, 2 alcoholic beverages & programs
The Site Selection committee is finalizing the BASFA site selection online balloting. Our next meetings will be at:
May 2 = Black Bear Diner = 174 W. Calaveras Blvd, Milpitas - where we will vote to ratify the online preferential ballot;
May 9 = Lyon’s = 4233 Moorpark Ave, San Jose, CA 95129
Announcements:
Bill announced that Bookbuyers on Castro Street, MV, is moving & having book sales & Adrienne reminded that they have a Go Fund Me site
Andy announced that Wednesday, Nov 23 that Post Modern Jukebox will be performing at the SJ State University Events Center
Dave C announced that May 13-15 is Whedonopolis in Van Nuys
And it was announced that Prince is still dead
Reviews:
[evil] Kevin reviewed a 5K run with a black light theme & said the VIP package was worth it
Valerie reviewed the 'Game of Thrones' season opener as the show is back & now mostly off-book & thatany actor with a pulse is at risk
Adrienne reviewed the Orphan Black season opener as mostly flashbacks & worth watching; Ric followed that he liked the scene in the comic book shop the most
We did auctions
we adjourned at 8:50 pm
the rumor of the week was: 'Purple reigned'
