we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1360 were accepted as 'Victory!'
The Treasurer got in late - & last week we took in $1.50 in the regular jar & $0.25 in the party jar
The Vice President had nothing fannish to report
The President greeted Devon & Elizabeth - who found us through the meet-up page, visiting us for the first time
Announcements:
Ken announced that the Legion of Rasselon met last Friday & announced that since he will be acquiring a new vehicle tomorrow that his prior vehicle is now for sale - check mini.p4tt.me & announced that this Saturday is a fundraiser for KFJC at Streetlight Records on Bascom in Campbell
[evil] Kevin announced that the convention's name is Worldcon 76 in San Jose
JC announced that Gene Wilder has reunited with Gilda Radner
Adrienne announced that the Highland Games will be at the Alameda Fairgrounds over Labor Day weekend & announced that there is a 1-day mini-Maker's Faire on Sept 4 in History Park in SJ
Ric announced that the Perry Rhodan series has been on-going since 1961 & that Amazon has the ebook 'Lemuria' available & announced that there is a 'One Night Ultimate Alien' Kickstarter starting next week
Fred announced that Ursula LeGuin will be published by the Library of America
Reviews:
Worldcon was reviewed as tremendously awesome & that New Orleans won the hot sauce challenge
Tom commented that he got some good pics of himself in Hannibal, MO, with a brush in hand in front of a fence [ala 'Tom Sawyer']
I reviewed 'Kubo' as visually gorgeous & enjoyable, worth full price
Kaitlyn reviewed a musical/theatre version of 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' as interesting, well done, very dark & very worth full price
Gayle reviewed their travel trip times as taking twice as long as expected & Gerry reviewed the Missouri legislature & the Churchill museum as both were interesting & enjoyed
Ric reviewed Crunch Roll as pretty amazing and the anime is subtitled
John reviewed Heroes & Villains Fanfest in SJ as he had a nice time & recommends going if you can get a discount
we did auctions
we adjourned at 9:50 pm
