we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1392 were accepted as 'accepted'
The Treasurer reported that at meeting 1392 we took in $25.00 in the regular jar and $1.75 in the party jar
The Vice President reported that Facebook told him it was Dave G's birthday
The President had nothing fannish to report - but we said 'hi' to Chase, New to the Bay Area, who teaches middle school & likes sf
The Sports Committee reports they still could use people to come to the Star Wars SJ Giants night & those already coming a reminder to pay for their tickets
Announcements:
Aatheus announced that the BASFA room party will be on Saturday at BasCon
Gerry announced that his book is now out- 'A World Beneath the Star', a collection of his short stories set on the same planet
Brad announced that he has his itinerary for the Helsinki Worldcon & announced that an academic article he wrote has finally been published- 'Many Paths, One Journey' in 'Disorienting Planets' - racial representations of Asians in sf, edited by Isiah Lavender III
Adrienne announced that the Hugo finalists have been announced & that the website handled it well in her opinion
Radar announced that on May 20, the acapella group Red Shift will be singing at 7pm at Palo Alto HS in the Media Arts center
Spring announced that she was nominated for 'best fan artist'

Dave G reviewed the announcement of Hugo nominations as done very well & cleverly - worth full price
Dave C reviewed Creature Features as an odd choice - 'Fools Rush In' as not genre & reviewed 'Faked to Death' by Dean James as a light, fun mystery
Trey reviewed 'Boss Baby' as 'Juvenile', with a forgettable plot &a you can save your money- wait for TV
Mo reviewed 'Kong' as 'don't expect Shakespeare here' - the CG was done well & she was thouroughly entertained & really enjoyed the end cookie
We did auctions
We adjourned at 8:56 pm
And the rumor of the week was 'Fox news has done to our parents generation what they feared video games would do to ours'
