Meeting #1409

held at the Black Bear Diner, Milpitas
Called to order at 8:02 pm, with efficiency
23 people attended
A party jar was established
The minutes of meeting 1408 were accepted as 'enlightened'
No Treasurer present, however last week we took in $1.25 in the regular jar & $9.75 in the party jar
VP report - nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report, but we said 'hi' to Matt, Cliff, Calia & Relando, all visiting us for the first time
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Lisa announced she is going in for an MRI & asks for our best wishes that it show something
Dave C announced June Foray died at age 99, a consummate voice actress & announced Al Omega is trying to trademark 'Creature Features' & it's messy & announced DVDs for 'Class' are selling at Walmart now
Mo asked who is going to Helsinki & suggested we try to have good turn-outs here during Worldcon time
REVIEWS:
Cliff reviewed 'MST 3K' as a good loud crowd & that the commentary was the best he's seen
Dave C reviewed 'Valerion' as the main character is a callow youth & that it pales in comparison to '5th Element' - there was a lack of chemistry between the characters, worth matinee
Adrienne reviewed 'Despicable Me 3' as she slept through parts of it, so she can't rate it & then reviewed this week's 'Orphan Black' as O. M. G.
We did auctions
Adjourned at 8:33
And the rumor of the week was = 'Will you do the fandango'
