held at the Black Bear Diner, Milpitas
Called to order at 8 pm with Trey taking orders from his alien masters
28 people attended
we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1424 were accepted as 'sexier than Blake Shelton'
the Treasurer reported that at meeting 1424 we took in $6.25 in the regular jar and $14.00 in the party jar
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report, but did say 'hi' to Lennart Johnson, visiting us for the first time
The Party Committee reported that the next BASFA party will be at Furcon, Saturday night
The Sports Committee urged us to think of the future
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Diane asked who was going to Loscon
[evil] Kevin announced that he & Andy are Fan GoHs at Loscon & will have the Presidential suite to hold parties in at-con & announced that Dec 19 is a Fathom event for the Meshuga Nutcracker
JC announced that Xfinity on demand is showing a trailer for the Winchester Mystery House movie that has been 'Hollywood'd up' & announced that he will be a featured guest at Baycon 2018
Adrienne announced that there is a con Dec 1-3 in Boston - Boscone 35
Dave G announced that there is a con in LA at the LA Marriott over the Memorial Day weekend called 'Sherlock' & that Spring will be there & announced that they have a spare ticket for 'Welcome to Nightvale' - contact him
Ken announced that this Friday is the Legion of Rasselon meeting, 7:30pm at the IHoP at Stevens Creek & the 280 & announced that Dec 2 is the 25th anniversary of the KFJC Psychotronic Film Festival, 7pm at Foothill College, $5 admission, $3 for parking
Lisa announced that she & Harold will have their 40th wedding anniversary at Loscon on Saturday
REVIEWS:
'Thor - Ragnarok' was reviewed a lot - all reviews positive; worth full price [in Ken's case, including air fare]
'Justice League' was also reviewed a lot, also positively & that it is the first DC movie with a cookie
[little] Harold reviewed 'Pokemon the Movie' as hurried & rushed, worth matinee; Ric mentioned that there will be a Fathom event of 'Howl's Moving Castle' [Nov 27 & Nov 29]
Bill reviewed Davy Theatre as it has a great snarky marionette show
Alex reviewed a talk about the discovery of extra-solar planets as a great session
Dave G reviewed seeing the 'Bill Nye the Science Guy' movie as he recommends it and thinks it deserves being on the Hugo ballot in the 'best related' category - worth full price
there were auctions
