Called to order at 8 pm, with me croaking
28 people attended
we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1434 were accepted as 'long'
the Treasurer was absent
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Adrienne announced that she's trying to get a meetup to see the new Winchester moving at CineArts with BayArea Ghosthunters
Lynn announced that she is looking for a technical writing job - check her website: http://www.rahul.net/figmo/LynnGold.doc
John O announced that Worldcon 76 rates go up at the end of January & the 31st is also the last day to set up an installment plan - plus Worldcon 76 is looking for volunteers & the charity chosen for Worldcon 76 is the Altsheimer's Association of Northern California [see https://www.alz.org/norcal/]
Dave C announced that Mark E Smith of the band The Fall has died at 60 & that Dave will miss him more than Neil Diamond
Michael announced that Ursula K LeGuin died at 88 & he announced that there will be a Baycon meeting on this [Superbowl] Sunday
Reviews
Carole reviewed attending Conflikt in Seattle as it was good & enjoyable and the hotel was oddly icy cold in places; Bill related that one of Carole's songs was very well-received & he had a great time
Bill reviewed the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco at Grant & Market is very pink
Jan reviewed Lee & Miller's 'Neogenisis' & 'Degrees of Separation' as she enjoyed both of them hugely & greatly
Lynn reviewed Sondheim on Sondheim as she enjoyed it very much - and several others agreed that it is great & she reviewed the dog show as that the dog flu epidemic left many breeds under-represented
Brad reviewed the original 'King Kong vs Godzilla' as it brought back a lot of memories
Adrienne reviewed the Old Hotel del Monte in Monterey as it can be toured and is a lovely place
Ken reviewed the Palo Alto Players production of 'Laramie Project' as not fluffy, really amazing, thought provoking and very well done
there were no auctions because of the Hugos discussion after the meeting
we adjourned at 8:48
Rumor of the week = '50,000 Fall fans can't be wrong'
