Reviews

Debbie This past Saturday went with Linda Wenzelburger to see RBG. Really good and enjoyable. Worth full price.

Adrienne Went to Alton, Il with Mo last week for the Haunted America conference. Saw fireflies on the Mississippi. Did a Dumb supper (as in silent!). Saw small towns along the Mississippi. Saw the St. Louis Arch. Took in a St Louis Cardinals game.

Bradford Saw Soft Power (Curran theatre) Very enjoyable, works on many levels. If you like Gilbert & Sullivan, it’s a transatlantic with modern sensibilities.

Bill He and Carole went to the Contemporary Jewish Museum’s (https://www.thecjm.org) exhibit on Rube Goldberg’s comics. Goes through July 8. Worth the trip. (Fred says go upstairs as well…)
Saw Incredibles 2. Lot of fun. Worth full price. Went to the new Pruneyard Cinemas. Recliners w/ tray tables and wait service. Reasonable mid-range food, satisfactory pricing (drinks and candy are theatre pricing).
Ric - Not going to rate against the first Incredibles. Makes a good pairing. Short was charming & disturbing.

JohnO Nine-lives Foundations, Redwood City. Run by a vet. Currently a little overcrowded due to remodeling. The cats seem healthy and happy. 6-9 kittens per cage. Volunteers friendly and helpful. Good place to adopt a cat. Recommends.
Wont You Be My Neighbor. Mr Rogers documentary. Covered career up-to his death. Addressed tough topics. Bring Kleenex.

DaveG Last week Spring went to see Cthulhu the Musical in SF, but found out going to be in Rocklin on Wednesday when they both could go. Produced by Puppeteers for Fears (https://puppeteersforfears.com). Enjoyable. Worth the drive up, and maybe even the substandard Denny’s. Doing a robot show in October.

Ric The graphic novel A Study In Emerald is out in hardback. Based on Neil Gaiman short centered on a holmes-type character in a world where the elder characters had broken through centuries before. The PDF edition looks like a copy of the Strand, with period ads that are just a little off… From Dark Horse comics.

There was an auction

The meeting adjourned at: 21:15 and the rumor of the week was: Connie Willis’ boobs are now safe.
