held at the Black Bear Diner, Milpitas
Called to order at 8 pm
24 people attended
we established a party jar [eventually]
The minutes of meeting 1460 were accepted as 'pretty, pretty secretary'
the proxy Treasurer's report is that last week we too in $0.25 in the regular jar & $4.00 in the party jar
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report - but asked if anyone has access to the archives of the Pittsburg Post Gazette [if so, please contact him]
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
[evil] Kevin announced that there's a ['Shiny!' - Diane] convention coming up - Worldcon 76 - with a start date of August 16, prereg starts Wednesday & Diane followed that there will be over 11,000 shiny ribbons to hand out
Diane announced that her father will be attending Worldcon 76 for the full 5 days!
Gerry announced that Space X will have a rocket launch later tonight, check spaceflightnow.com & he announced that there's a copy of Valorie's anthology 'Uncertain Destinies' in the BASFA auction tonight
Lisa announced that there will be a memorial for Harold at Worldcon 76, Friday evening in the party hotel
REVIEWS:
Gerry reviewed a movie made from 3 episodes of a 50's TV show - 'Rocky Jones Space Ranger, Crash of Moons' as pretty good
John O reviewed West Edge Opera's 'Pelleas & Melisande' as part of their summer festival & a family friend is playing the lead, amazing costuming, great singing, highly recommended = http://www.westedgeopera.org/pandm/
Lisa reviewed a SJ Discovery Meadow small food festival as cheap, fun and a pleasure to visit - she enjoyed it a lot
Diane reviewed Raging Waters as incredible & it worked great for a birthday party - worth full price
we had an auction
