Called to order at 8:04 pm - a bit late
18 people attended
we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1473 were accepted as 'sometimes it's hard to be a BASFAn'
the Treasurer was not here
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report
The Party Committee reported that the next BASFA parties will be Nov 2-3, on Friday & Saturday at PawCon this weekend at the Doubletree hotel
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Dave C announced that there is a GoFundMe for Mark Waid who is being wrongly sued
Ken announced that Symphony San Jose will be playing along with the Harry Potter films this weekend
Carole announced that their apple & orange trees are departed but not forgotten
REVIEWS:
Beth reviewed the Fathom 'Twilight' event as inspirational
Lisa reviewed the new Dr Who gear at Hot Topic as she likes it & reviewed the latest Dr Who episode as triggery for those with spider phobias, but good
Andy reviewed the new season of 'Sabrina' that Netflix released last week as rather good horror & the cast is amazing - he highly recommends it
Carole reviewed 'First Man' - the Neil Armstrong bio pic - as well made, very well done & worth seeing on IMAX & enjoyable; Bill agreed
Dave C reviewed 'Angels of Music' by Kim Newman as 'think -Charlie's Angels- with Charlie being the Phantom of the Opera' & a fun read; then reviewed 'Hap and Leonard' on the Sundance channel as all 3 seasons are available on Infinity & are entertaining and recommended
Bill reviewed the Ohio Valley Filk Festival as they saw friends and enjoyed the con & had a really good time
Diane reviewed the Oakland Comic Con as there were great panels, good cosplay & she enjoyed it very much
JC reviewed the first 3 episodes of a new series on Xfinity - 'The History of Horror' as recommended
we did auctions
we adjourned at 8:57
