The minutes of meeting 1551 were accepted as 'under protest'

the proxy Treasurer report is that last week we took in no new funds

the VP had nothing fannish to report

the President had nothing fannish to report

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Gerry announced that SFWA selected as best new novel, Sarah Pinsker's book, 'A Song for a New Day'

Valerie announced that shelter in place orders were slightly loosened today - see details at = https://www.sccgov.org/sites/covid19/Pages/public-health-orders.aspx#explained

Fred announced that the Hugo voter's packet is now available & the download interface is well prepared

There was discussion about how we will resume, if we resume, before indoor dining is allowed

Howeird announced that the Creation people are still on for their Aug 5-9 con in Las Vegas. see information at = https://www.creationent.com/cal/st_lasvegas.html

Gayle announced that she is mostly hearing out of both ears, which is an improvement

Ken announced that Bob & Doug were successful & have left the planet on Space X & docked with the ISS; Lisa followed that she watched the docking & it was slow as molasses, which is a good thing & then Gerry mentioned one of the cameras covering this was a Japanese tourist & various other details were discussed

REVIEWS:
Lisa reviewed that she finally got her new glasses after a long wait & the visit was 'interesting, in a Chinese way'. The glasses fit and are gorgeous, Ken followed that he & Geri will be having eye exams in the near future

Howeird reviewed binging on 'Upload' as a very well acted & directed series, with good special fx & is worth having Amazon Prime; for info, see https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7826376/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Gayle reviewed seeing more Metropolitan Opera as really wonderful, several of these she having seen before, live & that the next one will be 'Lulu' = metopera.org - a wonderful cast if you like that sort of thing.

Valerie reviewed virtual BookCon (NY) as excellent, the free books give-aways were turned into a drawing & there were very nice celebrity panels & lots of diversity. The panels are still available in 6-hour clumps on https://www.facebook.com/groups/bookcon and https://www.facebook.com/bookcon & she reviewed Suzanne Collin's Hunger Games prequel - 'Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' as a worthy prequel

Gerry reviewed Elon Musks's test of a larger rocket as it had an explosive result
