Reviews

Howierd = The Rachmananaov music behind hime was not played at the ZOOM filk. Blind lemming chiffon MCd. Workshop on how to set up a podcast was short. 1-hour long concerts every hour from 11 to 7. Listened to most of them. Most of the filk was mostly tuneless effort, with a couple really fine artists. Fellow BASFAn Bill L. came up with 20 minutes of content that filled an hour. Vanessa Cardui (interfilk guest at Consonnance) was spectacular! Enjoyable day in front of the computer. People from all over the world. Regret he wasn’t home to see the Saturday concerts
Lisa: Was there for 2.5 days. Enjoyable as usual. They are trying to feature a variety of people, and will be rotating through people – thus the quality is more variable than a curated convention. Enjoyed them. Performers can use instruments that don’t travel well. Next one in two months (see announcements.)
Hoping to get the performances up, if the artists recorded it.

Gerald = Comet briefly visible to the naked eye 4 days ago to yesterday. Not quite visible today. early in the AM (445) need a fairly clear easter horizon. Neowise. A little starlight point with a tail..
Howierd: NW sky now. Bad pun: its acapella.
Gayle: Knowingg coordinates helps. New app Stellarium Plus, more features than SkyView (needs LOS of 3 satellites to work.) Cool app.
Lisa: Friend in SLC no problem Sat & Sun night. Good NW view, when it’s not cloudy.

John = Disney films not seen before… Princess & the Frog: Was seeing a lot of “That would make a good point in the ride.” Great Mouse Detective: Fun light little romp - pastiche of Holmes (the mouses lived under Baker St.) Another one that didn’t leave enough of an impression to remember the title. Also last season of Agents of SHIELD. Time traveling through the last century, now up to the ‘80s . Filled with ‘80s music. A character turns secret base into a private disco – in the midsts of some serious stuff.

Gayle = Met Opera stream: Cosi Fani Tuti. Faithfulness testing, and debunked science of the time.

ChrisO = In the short space of time allowed for outdoor dining in Alameda County, the restaurants they went to were doing a good job. Among others, Ambrose Butchery in Niles, where they went for their 25h Anniversary, has an open-air back area.

Rumor of the Week: Comet MEOWISE.
