The minutes of meeting 1572 were accepted as 'going postal'

the Treasurer reported that nothing has changed =
regular total is $15,632.83; party total is $230.58

the VP had nothing fannish to report - but missed that Garth & Joni were not here, since he wanted to thank them for their donation to KFJC

Dave C announced that science fiction & mystery writer, Richard Lupoff has died at age 85 & will be missed & also announced that there will be a live reading of 'Plan 9 from Outer Space', 6pm on Oct 28, run by Dana Gould

REVIEWS:
Fred reviewed a book, 'Upright Women Wanted' by Sarah Gailey, as a fun, very fast read & recommended, the summary being 'Librarians riding horses in a near future dystopia fighting patriarchy'

Lisa reviewed the Ohio Valley filk festival as online, main performances on Zoom, quite entertaining and 'a good time was had by all'

John O reviewed being one-third into a novelette 'Masquerade in Lodi' by Lois McMaster Bujold, as mostly being a filler book so far, technically it's book 4 in the series of Penric & Desdemona; then also reviewed the rest of the 1st season of Star Trek 'Lower Decks', saying the characters got fleshed out and the series is referencing all manner of Star Trek trivia - and there were various follow-ons

Gerry reviewed the novelette, 'Ronni and Rod' by David Gerrold and Ctein, as 'a tidal wave hits California' & is part of an upcoming novel, appearing in Asimov's May-June 2020 as pretty well done & it moves along quickly

Dave G reviewed a double IPA with 8.9% alcohol from the Laughing Monk brewery, 'Justice Ruth', as pleasant and a somewhat bitter
