Howeird = Replacing a cat, who was acting like Edward Scissorhands, with a new cat from The Animal Foundation, Las Vegas. Picked a cat (Ma’am) that looks like his current one (Spook). Ma’am and Spook got along on a visit, and will be placed with him Thanksgiving morning.
Ken = Doctor Who is 57 today, and the BBC released a teaser for the holiday special that confirms the return of Captain Jack (Harkness, not Sparrow…)

Gayle = Attended Virtual PhilCon. Excellent science panels. Including topics as http://vivecenter.berkeley.edu/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/4-19.UCB_.ARVR_.pdf and http://covidtransmissions.substack.com . The used Zoom & Discord. Setup was interesting, hard to get questions answered, with some in chat and others in Q&A. Chatting in discord after.
Valerie = Attended Philcon this weekend, Orycon last weekend. Both small and pleasant with lots of filk at philcon and a few interesting speaker tracks at both. not much is coming (though multiverse con and geek girl con still have their panels on twitch) and now there's online dickens fair
Lisa: Also attending Orycon, and others. Not quite enough energy, hard to get discussions going and sustaining them. Set up more like lectures with Q&A. Finding it harder to connect to people. Los Con and another Fest of the Living Room are doing things this weekend. LosCon 46 was Nov. 2019. LosCon 47 will be Nov. 2021. http://loscon.org/47/ Loscon is planning to do some kind of event on YouTube this coming weekend. They don't say what at this point.

JohnO = Continued their Disney watch with Robin Hood. Follows the core tale pretty closely. Fun movie. A little fast paced (80 min) Worth watching if it’s on your streaming service.
Lisa: One of her friends did a thesis on Robin Hood, which included the Disney version - she gave it a B for accuracy. She eventually became an archive librarian for Disney!
Gerry = Electron rocket went up on Saturday from NZ, and recovered first stage!

Kennita = attended a talk about nuclear power. Presenter was quite a cheerleader, but after others had some pushback. & commented that today at around 1pm, China launched a spacecraft to the moon.
Howierd = Has an infection, prescribed Ciprofloxacin. Looking at what it was developed for: the Bubonic Plague & Anthrax (as well as what he had…)
Rumor of the Week: Al Gore to be named Secretary of the Internet
