held at the Black Bear Diner, Milpitas
Called to order at 8:03 pm with music chat
23 people attended
we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1494 were accepted as 'foolish'
the Treasurer reported that last week we took in $0.00 in the regular jar & $1.25 in the party jar
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President said 'hi' to Ryan, visiting us for the first time & who is currently reading 'Cities in Flight'
The Sports Committee reported that it is still possible to get tickets for the May 4th BASFA outing to the SJ Giants Star Wars night for $49.00, for the Martinelli's plaza
The Meetup Committee reported that she has gotten the archives in order & she is looking for options for the BASFA meetup site & Vikas offered to host it
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Adrienne announced that Gallifrey tickets go on sale this Saturday & announced that a paranormal documentary about the Brookdale lodge will premiere there on Sunday
Dave C announced that a Sirius XM station is playing music he likes & made him realize he is old & announced that Norwescon will be held April 18-21
Dave G announced that BASFA has 3 members who are Hugo nominees this year
REVIEWS:
JC reviewed 'Shazam' as entertaining, he liked it, worth full price & it has cookies
Gayle reviewed a YouTube video doco about the 'Life of Brian' as worth seeking out
Adrienne reviewed 'Captain Marvel' as she liked it, thought it was fun & worth full price
Ken reviewed the 1st 2 episodes of the new 'Twilight Zone' as quite good & the format allows for variable length episodes
Ric reviewed the DC comic streaming of 'Doom Patrol' as amazingly true to Morrison's series, with excellent character development & recommended
We did an auction
we adjourned at 9:15
Rumor of the week was 'you can't get drunk on Red Vines - they are only liquor-ish'
