The Treasurer was not here
The Vice President was not here
The President had nothing fannish to report - but we said 'hi' to Sally Woehrle, the Fan GoH of Baycon, who was visiting us for the first time
[tall] Kevin moved that Sally be appointed BASFA's ambassador to Cascadia & this passed
Announcements:
Adrienne announced that author Diane Gabaldon who does the Outlanders series will be in the area soon and that Kepler's is sponsoring a talk by her on June 12, 7:30 pm at Foothill College - tickets on sale now - & announced that the newest season of Dr Who starts in August
Lisa announced that the Legion of Rasselon meeting will be at the IHOP on Steven's Creek near Lawrence, 7:30 pm this Friday
Dave C announced that he - or his mispelled name - is in the credits for 'Godzilla'
Reviews:
[evil] Kevin reviewed Punk Rock Bowling as it really rocked, was fun, social and held in Las Vegas & absolutely worth full price
Andy reviewed Hogs & Heifers - a Las Vegas biker bar - as a bit better lit and cleaner than many - but still a good biker bar with good drinks at decent prices & [evil] Kevin lined that they wanted their customers to have a good time there
I reviewed the new 'X-Men' movie as better than I'd been expecting & worth matinee; John O opined that it was a fun ride, worth full price AND 3D; Trey followed that he had problems with the plot and thought it worth matinee
Adrienne reviewed Fanime as they had really cool badges, reviewed Baycon as quiet when she was there & reviewed the latest episode of 'Orphan Black' as great & the series is a 'must see'; Mo then said Adrienne helped a lot with Fanime's art show & Mo praised her staff there; Frank enjoyed Fanime's art show, Dave C thought Baycon's parties were slow & his book sales were good - and there were many other comments about Baycon being good but quiet and that it had really good panels this year and great programming
Carole reviewed Clockwork Alchemy as reasonably busy & it had a fashion show, Mo commented that she'd heard good things about the fashion show, Bill had a good time there and found it interesting
John O reviewed 'Godzilla' as kind of old school & good dumb fun & worth full price & 3D, Dave C followed, agreeing that it was destructive fun and the 3D was good
And it was agreed that Captain America is hot
we did auctions
we adjourned at 9:23
and the rumor of the week was: 'Godzilla - Gamera ready'
