Called to order at 8:12 pm - with unsettled weather

The minutes of meeting 1414 were accepted as 'that wasn't lightning, that was Thor'
the Treasurer was present & last week we took in $15.75 in the regular jar & $23.00 in the party jar
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report, but said 'hi' to Sandra, visiting us for the first time
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
[evil] Kevin announced that at Convolution Worldcon 76 they will have a shindig on Saturday, on Friday they will host a Bat-Rave, so come in costume & they will have a fan table
JC announced that Convolution (Oct 6-8) still does need staff & volunteers, plus if you want to be on a panel, contact Kimee
Lisa announced that there is a Convolution staff meeting is this Saturday at the San Ramon Marriott at noon & Sept 15 they will have Cassini's death dive into Saturn
John O announced that the SF Giants will have Marvel night on Sept 15 & they will give away a Thor bobblehead if you buy the tickets & announced that Fathom events will show Nausicaa
Adrienne announced that BayArea Ghosthunters may have a panel at Convolution & announced that she is mapping a Ghost Walk of SJ for Worldcon 76 & she announced that the 2017 RenFaire will be September 16 thru October 15 at Casa de Fruita
Dave C announced that eBay is revamping their image rules & he is looking for a https site that hosts pictures

Diane reviewed a recycled book by Charles deLint as great
John O reviewed Lois MacMaster Bjold's 2 newest novellas as recommended & reviewed 'Riverworld & other stories' as he's not as enamoured by Farmer any more
Dave C reviewed Aunt May's wedding plans as 'it's all a ploy'
Ric reviewed 'The Oriville' - the new Seth McFarland show - as the characters have flaws and can be worked with & he found it entertaining; others agreed - then Ric reviewed the last of the superhero shows, 'The Defenders' as a well-defined non-group
Bill reviewed their trip, saying they got also to see the king's palace and several museums while in Stockholm & recommends them as excellent
Brad reviewed his vacation, wherein he visited a lot of countries & has now visited an even 70 & that while he was in the Hermitage in St Petersburg that Putin was outside of the place & then reviewed Worldcon as he enjoyed it - especially the programming
Valerie reviewed the SF ComicCon as kind of small & not that interesting, then reviewed the 'Rose City Comic Con' in Portland as much more comics oriented
Sandra reviewed 'Ghost in the Shell' as the anime is philosophical - while the movie remake was dumbed down, although there were some scenes done frame-for-frame; Yochanon enjoyed it & the soundtrack is much better in the original
Yochanon reviewed 'Blackout' and "All Clear' by Connie Willis as really good, recommended & worth an immediate re-read
Gayle reviewed the SJ city theatre's production of 'Oklahoma' as good & she binge-watched Gene Nelson dance videos as he's one of the best dancers of his generation
Ken reviewed the director's cut of 'Wrath of Khan' - the Fathom event - as very enjoyable to watch on the big screen
