held at the Black Bear Diner, Milpitas
Called to order at 8 pm, with croaking
22 people attended
we established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1436 were accepted as 'saving Barbara's voice'
the Treasurer was absent
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Fred announced that Humble Bundle has one collection of novels with female protagonists, another bundle with electronics and a 3rd with Chuck Tingle stories
Gerry announced that Contact will be held April 6-8 at the Sunnyvale Domain Hotel & has flyers
Ken announced that the Camera 3 in SJ will be showing all 4 of the Oscar nominated shorts
Diane announced that she has Worldcon 76 flyers & there will be Hugo Nomination chat after the meeting
[evil] Kevin announced that there are Worldcon 76 parties at cons all over the place & urged us to take & distribute flyers
Mo announced that she does not currently have a phone
Reviews
Dave Wallis reviewed Zoe Quinn's book 'Crash Override' as it qualifies for 'best related' & recommends it; Mo also recommended the book, knows Zoe & some of what she went thru
Bill reviewed a trip to Wisconsin for a family visit as very cold but a nice visit & Carole agreed that it was very cold
Brad reviewed the SF Antiquarian Book festival as he had a wonderful time, saw Peter Beagle there and had lunch with him; then also reviewed a talk given by Guy Consolmagno, Director of the Vatican Observatory as very enjoyable
Dave C reviewed 'Norse Mythology' by Neil Gaiman as it's about Norse mythology and very enjoyable, the 'literary equivalent of comfort food' - Mo also enjoyed it
Mo reviewed seeing 'Winchester' again as she still enjoyed it, she did not enjoy losing her phone, then visited the Winchester Mystery house & their tour got to visit the basement & other new place & she loved it & recommends it, she also reviewed the Netflix series 'Altered Carbon' as very interesting & enjoyable
Andy reviewed doing lots of fun & geeky things over the weekend - including attending the Fanboy Planet 500th podcast recording & that it was a good show
Diane reviewed 'Clay's Ark' by Octavia Butler as very well written, enjoyable & worth full price
there were no auctions because of the Hugos discussion after the meeting
we adjourned at 8:39
