The Vice President had nothing fannish to report, but relayed that Black Bear will be closing at 7pm on December 24. So we won’t be having a meeting next week. Normal hours on December 31, but previous polls indicate that there may not be any members present.

Ric There’s a new comic publisher called TKO Studios that is taking a Netflix approach to their titles by "dropping" an entire series in one go. They currently have four titles available, and 4 more out soon. Some amazing talent are publishing through them. tkostudios.com
Carole Tim May, early Intel employee, was found dead last weekend.
Harold Zeldathon Response is happening starting December 27. Charity marathon in support of Direct Relief. They have raised over $2m. zeldathon.net
Ken His alter ego - Sir Cumference - will be on KFJC this Sunday (December 23) from 7-10 p.m. 89.7 FM in the Bay Area, kfjc.org for the whole world.
The Legion of Rassilon’s next meeting will be on Friday, December 28 at 7:30 p.m. They will be watching episodes of the recent series of Doctor Who: The Witchfinders and It Takes You Away. The meeting is held at the Denny’s on Bascom Ave in Campbell (near the Pruneyard) lor.club

JC Discovered the joys of AmazonPrime. Digging the the selection of documentaries. Made a list of them late at night. Attempted to start The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but then realized it was season 2! It did a good job of getting viewers up to speed. Loves Alex Borstein. Also, The Falling Men. A 9/11 documentary, centered on a specific photo. There was also a Price is Right documentary, about a guy who studied the shows prize costs. He tried 24 times before he finally got on the show as a contestant. Plus Chaos on the Bridge - a film produced by William Shatner about the making of Star Trek the Next Generation.
Went to the Dickens Fair at the Cow Palace yesterday. Second year going. Got there just as they were letting in. Loads of fun. Impressed with the atmosphere. Basically a large dealers room with character actors, plus food and little pubs. Cute shows. Pooped by 3 p.m. They have one last weekend this week. Recommend. $30/pp dickensfair.com
Beth For their date night on Friday she rented Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (with Stephen Amell!) It’s cute. Interesting story. JC thought it was good. Obviously made for a younger crowd.
DaveC Saw Ralph Wrecks the Internet. Very enjoyable. Stay for the cookies.
Bill: Their whole table went to see it. Enjoyed it. Plenty of 4th wall destruction. Makes liberal use of the Disney catalog, using some of the original voices of the characters. Stay to the bitter end. The credits are fun in-of themself.
Carole: Interesting sequence that would make for an interesting masquerade presentation.
Bill Trekked to Berkeley to see a show at Freight & Salvage. Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn. Artistry of Banjos both in solo and in duo.
Gayle: Saw Abigail several years ago. Bought a CD that was in Chinese. Her niece once met Abigail at a concert in China.
Carole: Freight & Salvage went from a bar with a stage to a stage with a bar.
DaveG Listening to NPR last night, interviewed Ross and Janice Bagdasarian. Ralph’s father (also Ross) was David Saville and creator of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Ross Jr. was able to bring back the chipmunks by doing the punk album. Then a new TV show in the ‘80s. The family maintained complete control of the Chipmunks. Managed to sue a network for failure to promote the show in the ‘60s.
DaveC: Whip-it translates well to the Chipmunks.
Ken A bunch of BASFAns went to the 3Below on Friday to see Who’s Holiday. One woman show is the story of Cindy-Lou Who, and the life she lead after the Grinch Stole Christmas. It’s an adult show, with a few bombs of various letters used. Very enjoyable. Recommends, and it runs through the 30th. 3belowtheaters.com
Debbie: Excellent
Ric: Shannon Guggenheim (who plays Cindy-Lou) is amazingly talented. 80 minutes of Seussian dialogue, and the occasional improvisational moments.
