Called to order at 8 pm - with extra bacon
15 people attended
We established a party jar
The minutes of meeting 1523 were accepted as 'there are no Daves, there are no objections'
the proxy Treasurer report is that last week we took in $16.00 in the regular jar & $0.50 in the party jar
the VP had nothing fannish to report
the President had nothing fannish to report
The Sports Committee reported that there were 10 seats for the Nov 16 Sharks game vs the Redwings at $105 each, contact Dave G for more information
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Gayle announced that due to fires in the north, they were worried that retired sf writer Brian Coad might be displaced again & he's in his 90's, so they are hoping this does not happen
Aatheus announced that there will be BASFA parties on Fri & Sat nights at the PawsCon this weekend at the Doubletree
REVIEWS:
John O reviewed reading the 'Handmaid's Tale' as it held up well & is recommended, & reviewed 'Man in the High Castle' as it is also a good read & the TV adaptation is good, also recommended & reviewed 'Fluffies Revolution' a freebie on Kindle was, yes, a fluffy fun read & that MacCaffrey's 'Gift of Dragons' is worth picking up as an e-book
Fred commented that the first mention he is aware of cold brew appearing in is Cory Doctorow's book 'Homeland'
Trey reviewed a collection of Liad stories by Miller & Lee, 'Constellations of Liad, volume 4' as entertaining and recommended
we did auctions
