ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Dave Wallace announced that WisCon is organizing an electronic conference for the Memorial Day weekend, their base rate is $10, check http://wiscon.net/register/ - Craig followed that BayCon is planning to do similar
Howeird announced that his sister's house in Israel is a victim of the terribly high temperatures there, as a palm tree spontaneous combusted and set her house on fire, causing massive damage; we expressed our sympathies
Lisa announced that BalitCon [Balticon.org] is doing their convention online, for free, next weekend & also & reminded that Patrick Stewart is reading a Shakespearean sonnet every day
Nathan announced that he had dinner at a sit-down restaurant this evening & enjoyed the experience, at a golf club in the El Dorado Hills; there were various comments & questions
John O announced that Forbidden Island in Alameda is doing take-away drink orders, as well as a selected menu of foods, https://www.forbiddenislandalameda.com/
REVIEWS:
John O also reviewed Forbidden Island in Alameda as the drinks were nice, but very pungent when their cat knocked one over & reviewed nbc.com's 'Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist' as very well done, with great songs & choreography - the story was very well-contained & highly recommended
Valerie reviewed attending a free online fan con for writers = 'Flights of Foundry' that went the clock 'round, with many instructional panels & was delightful, well done, but there were a lot of steps to get in & the chatrooms were on discord, which was more spread out than putting everything in one place https://flights-of-foundry.org & she reviewed 'Wasted', a rock musical about the Bronte sisters as having fun songs and seemed well done https://southwarkplayhouse.co.uk/archive-2018/wasted/; she mentioned that there is lots of free theater out including Cirque de Soleil http://filmedonstage.com/news/169-pbs-releases-20-additional-broadway-musicals,-plays,-and-concerts-for-free-streaming-for-just-two-weeks - then she reviewed that 'She-Ra' wrapped up with a delightful ending in its final season & reviewed that the DC/WB Stargirl 1st episode was very conventional – more 'Smallville' or 'Supergirl' but that it doesn’t seem to add anything new and interesting
Nathan reviewed 'Don Quixote' by Miguel de Cervantes, translated by John Ormsby & narrated by: Roy McMillan - as wonderful, really well done & definitely worth full price. He also reviewed binge-watching 'Upload' on Amazon Prime as he enjoyed it & reviewed binge-watching 'Westworld' as it was all right; John O followed, saying that there was an interview after the series finale that the fight scenes for 'Westworld' were very intense
Howeird reviewed the bulk garbage collection for Las Vegas as it allows for very easy pickup and then magically disappears & this makes him happy
Craig reviewed 'The Tunnel' on Amazon Prime as he enjoyed it quite a lot
Lisa reviewed that
'Josh Gates Tonight' did a 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' night which was very entertaining & he seems to be having a ball, plus is talking about archeology - check = https://go.discovery.com/tv-shows/expedition-unknown - then she reviewed that '7 Stars and Bars' is also doing drink pick-ups, including alcoholic drinks, and they have been excellent & also are doing delivery if you are close enough & helps support a local small business, check 7starsbar.com
Gayle also reviewed 'The Tunnel' as the 1st episode she watched was extremely interesting but later episodes got too suspenseful & was more nightmare material
Patty reviewed Tad Williams doing readings of his works on Facebook Live as very enjoyable
we adjourned at 9:03 pm
Rumor of the week was = “If kitties attend the meetings, then they can vote'
